lets see:
intel core2 duo e8500 @ 4.5ghz overclocked
video: ati 4870 1gb @ 800mhz/1000mhz memory with 32 inch samsung LCD 1080p
hdd: 250gb 10 000 rpm
case: nzxt lexa
ram: 4gb mushikin high performance
motherboard: dfi lanparty DK 48x
psu: 850w corsair
and my masive cooling system is a sunbeam core contact o.O"
Wow what a handicap strong arms and missing a leg. rebuild from scratch and dont o.c. your pc will diie soon. I feel sorry for it. all that power supply wasted. U really need to learn how to build. Ati cards are handicapped anyway though. Dfi boards are also fail. mushikin also makes poor ram with bad latency.
the 4870 is a good card espetialy when oced cuz you can play crysis perfectly on the 1 gig version as long as u dont turn up and im using a 850w psu cuz im going to cf <.< mushkin ram is reliable and if you think ocing a pc will make it die sooner then read more. it only dies faster if you put crazy voltages like 1.6v >.> my voltage is still 1.4 which is safe considering im using a e8500 and dfi lanparty boards are not fail, they have much more options compared to somthing like p5q pro etc which is beter for me because im trying to get my prossesor to hit 5ghz and if you think the latency on my ram is bad, its 4 4 4 12 last i checked that was good
OCing causes more heat=kills pcs. Motherboards with more options do not=good boards just more ways to fry them. mishkin ram at 4-4-4-12 is factory overclocked and the life on mushkin ram is short reguardless of timings and they have crappy heatsinks. OCZ is more reliable as well as G.Skill. Also you can play crisis on max setting now with a $400 pc its a last gen game free games like americas army 3 blow it away and thats sad. people always try to judge their pc with crysis. Its like saying i can play world of warcraft on max setting wow what brand of ashtray did you buy? that really would have more importance to me than max settings on crysis. can you play AOC on max settings? with 80-fps or better? that is the question.
Lol, this kid doesn't have a clue. Go check out an actual tech forum where 90% of the membes OC and try to find out how many cpu's die with normal overclocks.
If you aren't pushing volts to retarded numbers than OC'ing will not have any effect on your cpu's life, unless you want to still have your computer running 15 years from now.
I'm gonna go ahead and call bull on his system that he posted too. Either he's making it up or he just googled the most expensive parts and in his mind "The best" and bought them.
2 nvidia 295's are a bad idea, an x2 card already scales badly, and using 2 in sli IS overkill. Oh, and you only paid about $250 over what your ram is worth.
I'm running a dual core that has been unlocked to a quad, and its sitting at 3.8ghz up from 3.1, and I plan to go past 4 when I get a break from my courses.
And as for the ati vs nvidia, ati is ahead right now, releasing its next gen cards months before nvidia will be able to. nvidia's been trying to stir up hype about thier non-existant cards to slow ati down.
